Wildcard Weekend 2009 - Jet Kingdom Throne Picks
For the start of the 2009 Playoffs we pick the wild-card weekend mach-ups of Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas Cowboys, Denver Broncos at New England Patriots, Green Bay Packers at Arizona Cardinals and the New York Jets at Cincinnati Bengals.
NFL Week 17 Review
We didn't do too bad last week going 2-2. We go the Jets and Steelers but missed on the Patriots losing to the Texans and the Colts just sleeping on the Bills. Win and we were in so lets get to those playoff picks.
Philadelphia Eagles (11-5) at Dallas Cowboys (11-5)
It was strange to see the Eagles lay and egg last week with so much on the line, but this rematch will be different. The Eagles have a way of winning in the playoffs while the Cowboys seem to do the opposite. Expect the it to be close and brutal, but a fly-Eagles-fly type of game.
Eagles: 31 - Cowboys: 30
Baltimore Ravens (9-7) at New England Patriots (10-6)
Losing Wes Welker is going to be a huge blow to the Patriots offense and we don't expect them to recover. The Ravens want revenge and are playing tough football and while their defense isn't the same as last year, it is still dangerous. Expect the Ravens to cause the Patriots to turn over the ball, uncharacteristically.
Ravens: 28 - Patriots: 20
Green Bay Packers (11-5) at Arizona Cardinals (10-6)
The Pack is back and while the Cardinals didn't start their starters last week, it was still a whipping. While the Packers bring a young hungry defense the Cardinals are always a few picks away from losing. Expect the Packers to feed on the birds again and pray they get a chance to see the Viking.
Packers: 34 - Cardinals: 32
New York Jets (9-7) at Cincinnati Bengals (10-6)
This won't be the same two teams that met up a week ago. The Bengals will get the home field and will be able to score and the Jets will change up some of things they were doing on offense. The weather will be the same, but the score won't.
Keys to the Castle: Hit a few passes down the field to scare the DBs from stacking the box on every play. No more drops.
Jets: 24 - Bengals: 17
Come back next week for those Throne Picks as well as our results.
