A Look at Jets Ticket Prices
Using the Team Marketing Report for the NFL a look at the Jets ticket prices compared to other teams.
Tickets are expensive. No doubt. But how expensive are they compared to other teams. The 2005 NFL Team Marketing Report which compares both ticket prices and other things like parking and beer, shows that the New York Jets are ranked 4th highest overall cost and 3rd in ticket prices.
The FCI (Fan Cost Index) is made up of an average of tickets, beer, food and parking as a way to rate the entire cost of going to an NFL game. In 1991 the average ticket price was $22.50 and the FCI was $143.80. Compare that to today where the average ticket price for the New York Jets is $71.35 and the FCI is now at $387.74. That shows that since 1991 ticket prices have gone up over 317% while the FCI has gone up a mere 270%. In terms of ranking, the Jets went from the 30th in ticket prices to the forth between 1995 and 2005.
