Crain's Reports Environmental Protection Committee Support
Crain's magazine is reporting that the City Council's Environmental Protection Committee is now backing the stadium.
"The move will have the effect of removing nearly 20,000 cars off the road each gameday significantly reducing air pollution throughout the region," said Mr. Gennaro, backing the Jets' claim that most attendees would take mass transit. In addition, he said, the Jets' stadium design relies on "green power sources in upstate New York" and will produce more than enough energy "to meet all of our football needs."
