Newsday has an article reporting that the the MTA's Chairman, Peter Kalikow, is still leaving it up to the Jets in terms of whether they buy the rights or not.
"Speaking after a board meeting, Peter Kalikow said "we'll know shortly" -- perhaps in a few weeks -- whether the football team is able to muster the funds for the $2.2 billion stadium. The team is scrambling for new fiancing after a state board earlier this month rejected a plan to give the project $300 in support. "The Jets have an agreement with us. If they can fulfill it, we'll let them fulfull it," Kalikow said. "If they can't, they can't."
