Week One 2007 Jet Kingdom Throne Picks
Jet Kingdom picks the AFC East match ups and scores for week one of the 2007 season. This week we pick the Patriots visiting the Jets, Bills at the Broncos, Dolphins at the Redskins and Giants at Cowboys.
A day late and a game short as the NFL is officially underway as the Colts beat up on the Saints last night. Since we were not going to pick that game anyway, our lateness won't get in the way of our picks. That being said, the Throne Picks are up.
New England Patriots (0-0) at New York Jets (0-0)
Some would say there is no good time to take on the Pats but we think that this is a great time. A home opener against a team with some new weapons that might not all be working exactly right is an advantage for the Jets. Sure, we are complete homers but Thomas Jones can get some steam up and keep the play action going, the Jets can fly through to a tight victory. Brady be damned!
Patriots 21, Jets 23
Buffalo Bills (0-0) at Denver Broncos (0-0)
If there is a place you don't want to start your season it is at Mile High Stadium in Denver against the Broncos. Jay Cutler is the new man in town and will probably not hit John Elway status this year but the Broncos can run all day long at home. The Bills, on the other hand, have a rookie running back, some missing parts in the defense and a quarterback we are still not sold on. Tough opener for the Bills.
Bills 13, Broncos 24
Miami Dolphins (0-0) at Washington Redskins (0-0)
While the most of the AFC East is on the road this is the road team that will win. The Dolphins are probably not going to have a great season, but they can still beat the Redskins by just throwing the ball and running average Ronnie Brown. It won't be a fun game to watch, but the Dolphins will pull it out.
Dolphins 20, Redskins 17
New York Giants (0-0) at Dallas Cowboys (0-0)
Since this year the Jets play the NFC East those will be most of our extra Throne Picks for the season. This will be the first Sunday Night game in prime time and just like in the past when the Colts played the Giants, the Giants are going to wish it hadn't been. The Cowboys defense and running game is too much for New York and Terrel Owens is just licking his chops at getting a taste of that banged up secondary. Looks for a high scoring game, but only one one side.
Giants 17, Cowboys 28
