- AFC #
- American Football Conference which is one half of the NFL made up of the AFC and NFC.
- Homer #
- While being a Homer (Simpson) in a lot of situations is a good thing (cartoon, never grow old, famous) in the case of a sports it is an insult. Being called a homer in the sports world means that you are someone who shows absolute blind loyalty to a team and totally ignoring any shortcomings or faults they might have.
- NFL #
- NFL stands for the National Football league. This would be football 101.
- NYJ #
- About as easy as they get, NYJ stands for New York Jets. Way too easy.
- Penguin #
- Normally the definition would be "short-legged flightless birds of cold southern especially Antarctic regions having webbed feet and wings modified as flippers" but on a New York Jets fan website, it is about Head Coach Eric Mangini. The rumor is that Laveranues Coles came up with the nickname and added to it by doing a "Penguin Dance" in the endzone after catching a touch down.
- PSL #
- Person Seat License (PSL) is a one time fee that teams charge season ticket holders. The PSL gives the ability for the owner to re-sell it on the open market but range in cost between $250 - $8,000 a seat.
- PUP #
- Stands for physically-unable-to-perform and is usually a list which players are put on. It means they can go to meetings but not practice.
- QB #
- QB stands for quarterback the passing position of an NFL football team.
- Tangini #
- The nickname of head coach Eric Mangini and G.M. Mike Tannenbaum.
