A Jets/Olympics stadium in Queens would be a money-loser for New York City, nine elected officials from Queens wrote in a letter to Mayor Bloomberg this week.
"We would like to reiterate our strong support for the construction of the New York Sports and Convention Center on Manhattan's far West Side because that is where it would have the greatest positive impact on our city," wrote the Queens officials in a joint letter obtained by the Daily News.
If the stadium were in Willets Point instead of Manhattan, it would be an open-air stadium used only 10 to 20 days a year, the officials wrote. In Manhattan, the stadium would be part of the expanded Javits Convention Center and used year-round.
http://www.nydailynews.com/boroughs/story/288361p-246845c.html
